Who knows? Maybe next time he's in Alex Ferguson's birthplace of Govan maybe the Expert can make his way to a local pub and attempt to make a persuasive case.
Oh, and that'll be two entire nations. |

I can only feel relieved when teams whose star players have names like "Messi" and "Kaka" are knocked out. I felt dirty just watching the TV. |

football's a beautiful sport. it takes a hell lot of hard work to get to where these talented players've got. one who only reads football forums and/or watches it a few times on tv may know little about such big names or the sport. i feel just as dirty reading this football discussion.
cheers and coffee to whatever it takes some to feel relieved |

My name is Jerry McBride, My uncle's name is Joe McBride, my cousin's name is Joe Mcbride. My best mate is Andy Lynch. Other mates include Jim Craig and Tam Forsyth.
Jibber to us all about your football background Stanley. I'm just burstin' to be educated by a master debater with your knowledge and skills.
You'll obviously know all the above, given your immense knowledge of Scottish football and overall understanding of the British mindset.
Tell me more, tell me about lactic buildup and recovery, the importance of stretching and diet. In fact, tell me how these modern pansies get away with their antics while collecting vast sums of money and dragging the game to its lowest levels ever. |

My point is: how exactly did you come to the conclusion that nobody on an ESL forum could possibly know anything about football?
What's your qualifications to tell me and others we know nothing about what it takes to succeed in any sport?
"Cheers and beers"....! What in the name of christ are you on about you tongue-tied oaf?
Do you want to be one of the boys?
Just ask. |

twisting it? signs of depression? showing off your debating skills? has your team just lost?
sad day not only for mr mcbride but also for the talented and skillful south american teams..all european final, again. looks like europeans know how to take care of football business better. and, as jerry has mentioned the "vast sums of money"..yes, they are richer than south americans
cheers and beers |

So England will make the final after all!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jul/08/howard-webb-referee-world-cup-final
Speaking of the final I hope holland win then I can say that Scotland never qualified because we were knocked out by the world champs, but Spain look as if they have finally got(or is that gotten? ) into gear. But what do I know about predictions. i'm not an octopus called Paul. |

Damned Octopus is picking better than I am...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/europe/10567712.stm
Germany's oracle octopus, Paul, has become a worldwide celebrity for his apparent ability to accurately predict the outcome of football matches.
Paul has correctly forecasted the result of six of Germany's World Cup games, and has now plumped for Spain to take the title.
